When we have such a lovely warm sunny day like today, the beach calls out to us in a loud clear voice. I’ve mentioned before that Marc and I had committed to more lovely long walks on the beach and it seems that Pat and Gary made the same deal. And so,, today was all about sea, sand and walking………simply being bums on the beach as my featured picture so clearly states!!
Just look at that long lovely stretch of empty sand!! We didn’t quite have it all to ourselves but practically.
Smiles of anticipation of toes buried in the warm sand. Free exfoliation and lovely stretching of calves as we all walk in the uneven sand.
You can always count on seeing a few fishermen along the shore, lines cast. Such a calm pastime and frequently in pairs, sitting and gabbing quietly.
This man loves being close to the sea and memorizing all the various patterns in the sand for inspiration in his atelier later.
Pat, you can wave all you want….your grandchildren cannot see you from here!!!
I too love the long walks on the beach.
We had hoped to see our friends Bela and Harald at the beach today but sadly we didn’t see them. Turns out they hadn’t gone today…..maybe next time.
We thoroughly enjoyed the walk, looking at all the various sea shells, both shape and colour. It’s truly a rainbow.
I try not to set up a photo but simply wait till I find shells side by side that have lovely contrast like these two…..and (go to next photo)
…these two! Yellow was a bit of a theme today as we saw many of them in different hues.
I am a bit partial to this colour in the sand. Rich and lovely.
We must have walked for well over an hour before turning back and heading to the Wax Restaurant for lunch. We honestly worked up an appetite.
Hungry and happy.
Marc;s brie burger and fries.
Patricia’s smoked salmon salad
Gary’s Portuguese Pizza
My delicious calzone…ham and fresh pineapple…..not my usual tastes but today, it worked.
Of course, we had to walk a bit after lunch………
See what happens when she drinks with lunch? Kidding…..this was before lunch and she was simply enjoying the sand, but I thought it made a much better after lunch shot!
I could think of a dozen captions for this one but I’ll let you all use your imaginations.
The water was coming in as the tide was rising…….now to make certain we didn’t get wet…..
Clearly the wave got the better of us. A soggy bum all the way home.
A great day………with the sand, sun, walking, and food, we should all sleep the sleep of angels this evening.
